Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge, released on March 19, has been enjoying a monstrous run at the box office. He first set the box office on fire with the first part, Dhurandhar, in December 2025. The audiences have been going gaga over his brilliance and gripping vision. Both films have managed to shatter records and create history. The blockbuster film stars Ranveer Singh, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and Arjun Rampal in key roles. Recently, actress Kangana Ranaut heaped praise on the Aditya Dhar directorial. She also went on to speak about Madhavan, who has been winning appreciation for his solid act as Ajay Sanyal, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) in the film. His character is heavily
inspired by and based on India’s real-life National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval.
While speaking to ANI, Kangana Ranaut said that she found Madhavan “terrific” in the film. She also said that he nailed the role and was very close to Ajit Doval. The actress said, “Madhavan was terrific in the film. I have met Ajit Doval ji and he has got a huge personality. I think there should be an entirely separate film on Ajit Doval. Only then an actor would be able to do justice to his character. But Madhavan was very close. He is a very good actor.”
Further speaking about the Aditya Dhar directorial, she said that Dhurandhar has revived the industry and brought renewed hope. The Queen actress said, “The film industry, in a way, was becoming disconnected from the country. Audience participation had declined, studios were depleting, and people didn’t want to watch these films anymore. South Indian films received a greater entry and much recognition, especially because of their culture-focused content and regionally relevant stories. With such relevant films, people want to watch them. The country has identified such films. You can see how the film has done an amazing business as people wanted to see their own stories. Dhurandhar has revived the film industry and gave a new hope.”
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 is now just Rs 135 crore away from becoming India’s highest-grossing film. After 28 days in cinemas, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has collected Rs 1099.72 crore (net) in India, with a gross figure of Rs 1316.45 crore. It will soon leave Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 behind at the domestic box office.
