In a shocking incident, a plane crashed along a highway in Dartmouth, Massachusetts on Monday morning. As pee a statement from the Massachusetts State Police, the crash caused a plume of smoke and forced
the closure of the major highway.
The number of injuries resulting from the crash remains unknown. Videos captured by passing motorists show smoke rising above Interstate 195 from scattered, burning debris.
State police said the plane may have been attempting to land at New Bedford Regional Airport, though officials said it does not appear that the pilot provided the airport with a flight plan or passenger details.

Following the incident, the state Department of Transportation closed traffic in both directions on the affected section of the interstate.
At the time of the crash, the National Weather Service reported a nor’easter was bringing rain and winds of 30 to 40 mph (48 to 64 kph) to the area.
