West Asia War: The White House on Tuesday (local time) responded to Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threat against attacking US’s tech firms, saying that Washington is prepared to counter any potential attacks from Tehran.
A White House official said the US military stands ready to respond to any aggression, emphasizing Washington’s defensive posture amid rising tensions.
“The United States military is and was prepared to curtail any attacks by Iran, as evidenced by the 90 percent drop in ballistic missile and drone attacks by the terrorist regime,” news agency Reuters reported, citing the White House official.
The White House’s response came after IRGC issued a stern warning against big tech companies like Microsoft, Apple, Google,
Intel, and Boeing, stating that they will be considered legitimate targets in response to terrorist operations carried out by the US and Israel.
In a statement, the IRGC said that American ICT and AI firms play a central role in designing and executing assassinations, and announced that for every act of terror in Iran, the corresponding facilities of these companies will be struck, reported Press TV.
The group also warned that facilities linked to these companies could be struck and advised employees and nearby residents to evacuate areas within a one-kilometre radius. It said potential retaliatory actions could begin as early as April 1.
The Iran–US–Israel war, launched on February 28 under Operation Epic Fury, has now entered its second month with no signs of de-escalation. The conflict, which saw the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the initial strikes, continues to intensify across the region.
