Raghav Juyal is stealing the spotlight in Aryan Khan’s Netflix debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood. As Parvaiz, the unpredictable, hilariously eccentric best friend to Lakshya’s lead character, Juyal brings
a wild charm that viewers can’t get enough of.
But it isn’t just the quirky arc of Parvaiz that has fans raving. What’s gone viral is a scene that was never even on paper. In front of Emraan Hashmi himself, Juyal bursts into a fiery, full-throated rendition of Kaho Na Kaho from Murder — Arabic verses and all.
The moment is now internet gold. Fans can’t stop replaying the uninhibited performance that’s equal parts awkward, raw, and utterly earnest. Social media is flooded with clips, edits, and memes. Or as Juyal puts it, “There is now a separate fan base for just that scene.”
Speaking to NDTV, he revealed that the entire thing was born out of a spur-of-the-moment improvisation. “It wasn’t written in the script. Aryan and I were very tense about what to do when Emraan sir enters. Then Aryan suddenly said, ‘You’ll sing a song.’ We started debating, Bheege Honth Tere or Kaho Na Kaho, and finally chose the latter because of its Arabic portions, which allowed me to perform more,” Juyal recalled.
What followed shocked even him. “The first day when I gave the master shot, my whole body started shaking and tears just started rolling down. It happened organically. Everyone was shocked, even Aryan. But I think that worked because it looked genuine.”
Yet, Juyal admits he wasn’t always confident about the role. Compared to the layered backstories written for other characters, Parvaiz seemed loosely sketched. “Parvaiz was just there, fun but undefined. After Kill, people started seeing me as a lead, so I went to Aryan. He told me, ‘Bro, I know you. I have full faith in you. This is my favourite character. We’ll create it together on set.’ And that’s exactly what happened,” he said.
Their improvisational chemistry soon became a running joke on set. “Aryan has a habit of creating on the spot, and my habit is to deliver in different ways. So, whenever we were together, other actors would say, ‘Oh no, this shoot will now extend!’” Juyal laughed.
Directed by Aryan Khan, The Ba***ds of Bollywood premiered on Netflix on September 18 and boasts a striking cast: Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Bobby Deol, and Mona Singh. The series also sprinkles in powerhouse cameos — Emraan Hashmi, Shah Rukh Khan, SS Rajamouli, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan — ensuring it’s as meta as it gets.
And yet, in the midst of all the star power, it’s Raghav Juyal’s unscripted Kaho Na Kaho moment that’s become the most unforgettable scene of them all.
