Hyderabad, Dec 9 (PTI) Telangana aims to become a USD 3 trillion economy by 2047, up from USD 200 billion today, by focusing on 10 key areas that included regional economic development, a vision document
released on Tuesday revealed.
Game-changing infrastructure and excellence in governance are the among the other key focus areas, according to the ‘Telangana Raising 2047 Vision Document’ unveiled on Tuesday.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy released the document at the conclusion of the two-day Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025 held here.
The document noted that within two years of forming the government, the Revanth Reddy-led administration had successfully steered the mood, sentiment, and perception of all stakeholders towards optimism and buoyancy.
“From a USD 200 billion state GDP, we aim to become a USD 1 trillion economy within a decade, by 2034. Achieving this five-fold growth would have naturally taken around 25 years. However, with clear strategies and consistent, globally competitive policies, we will reach this target by 2034,” the document stated.
“The government will then leverage its own strength to achieve a USD 3 trillion state economy by 2047, coinciding with India’s 100th year of independence,” it added.
Currently, Telangana, with 2.5 per cent of India’s population, contributes around 5 per cent of the national GDP. The vision aims to double this contribution to 10 per cent by 2047.
To achieve the USD 3 trillion target, the document outlined key projects such as Bharat Future City, River Musi Rejuvenation, a Dry Port, a 12-lane expressway connecting the Dry Port to Krishnapatnam Sea Port in Andhra Pradesh, bullet train corridors linking Hyderabad with Bengaluru and Chennai via Amaravati (AP), and manufacturing zones between the Outer Ring Road (ORR) and Regional Ring Road (RRR), among others.
The government also aims to transform itself into a fully digital administration, making as many services and interactions with citizens, investors, visitors, and tourists digitally as possible.
While ensuring equality for all citizens, the Telangana government has prioritised welfare and social development for women, farmers, youth, and children.
Other focus areas include environment and sustainability, resources for growth, knowledge hub development, transitioning from ad hoc decision-making to structured policy, and a three-zonal development approach: CURE (Core Urban Region Economy), PURE (Peri-Urban Region Economy), and RARE (Rural Agri Region Economy).
