A shocking case of social media love has emerged from Bhiwadi in the Khairthal-Tijara district of Rajasthan. A teenage girl, who had been chatting with a boy on Snapchat, set out on foot to meet him in Dewas district, Madhya Pradesh. But after walking just eight kilometres, she collapsed on the roadside from heat and exhaustion.
Alerted by local residents, the police rushed to the scene and immediately took her to a hospital for urgent treatment.
One And A Half Years Of Online Chats
According to officials, the girl had been chatting for nearly a year and a half with a young man named Ritesh from Dewas district in Madhya Pradesh. Although they had never met in person, she decided to turn the online relationship into a real one.
On the pretext of going to a nearby shop, the girl left
her home without informing anyone. She then began walking towards Dewas district, carrying no proper supplies for the long journey ahead.
With no adequate water or protection from the heat, the girl collapsed after walking about eight kilometres. Local residents noticed her lying unconscious by the roadside and immediately alerted the police.
Rushed To Hospital, Condition Critical
Police rushed her to a nearby hospital, from where she was referred to Alwar district hospital due to her critical condition. Doctors stated that any further delay could have proved life-threatening.
Police Investigation Underway
The police have informed the girl’s family and are questioning her. Officials said the incident highlights the potential dangers of relationships formed through social media.
Her mental state and the circumstances surrounding the case are now under detailed investigation.
