Former Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced that he and his wife Sannia Ashfaq have decided to go their separate ways, confirming a divorce, a rumour that was doing the rounds for the last few
months.
Wasim said that the decision came after unresolved problems, with him and Sannia opting for a mutual divorce after longstanding differences that couldn’t be resolved.
Wasim announced the news on his official social media handle, saying that the decision followed longstanding differences that couldn’t be resolved.
“After much thought, and due to repeated conflicts that couldn’t be resolved over the past few years, I have filed for divorce,” Wasim wrote on his social media.
The former all-rounder requested that people respect their privacy and requested that old photographs of the couple not be shared.
“I sincerely request everyone to respect our privacy and avoid using or sharing any old couple photos. Please also refrain from referring to her as my spouse going forward,” Wasim said.
The former all-rounder also warned against speculation, stating that any false claims or attempts to drag others into the matter would be addressed.
“I request everyone not to engage in or believe any misleading narratives. Any attempt to defame or involve others in this personal matter will be addressed through the proper legal channels if necessary,” Wasim said.
The former all-rounder added that he would continue to fulfil his responsibilities towards his children.
“Regarding the children, I remain their father and will continue to care for them fully and responsibly. Thank you for your understanding and respect,” Wasim said.
“I am writing this from a place of deep pain. My home has been broken and my children have been left without their father. I am a mother of three, including a five-month-old infant who has yet to be held by his father,” Sannia wrote on her Instagram handle.
