Gurugram, Sep 4 (PTI) A restaurant employee returning from work was allegedly robbed here of over Rs 67,000 after three persons on a bike waylaid him, snatched his two mobile phones and transferred the amount after forcing him to reveal the UPI PIN, officials said on Friday.
According to the complaint, Vijay Kumar, who lives on rent at Paridhi Apartments in Sector 85, was returning to his room after finishing his duty at a restaurant in Sector 83 around 2 am on Wednesday, when three persons on a motorcycle approached him from behind and stopped him near Sikandarpur village.
The three individuals then threatened him, snatched his mobile phones and asked for his UPI PIN. The accused then transferred a total of Rs 67,770 from his bank account and fled.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
ASI Ashok Kumar, who is investigating the case, said that the police are examining footage from nearby CCTV cameras. Efforts are being made to identify and arrest the accused. The digital transactions of the looted money are also being investigated. PTI COR AMJ AMJ
