Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are all set to make an appearance at the Winter Olympics in Milan. The Heated Rivalry stars have been selected as official torchbearers during the Olympic Torch Relay.
The duo will take part in the ceremony, which will take place on February 6 ahead of the opening ceremony.
Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie to Become Torchbearers
The news of Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie’s appearance at the Winter Olympics was announced by HBO Max. However, organisers have not yet announced the specific segment of the relay in which Williams and Storrie will participate.
The Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will be available to stream on HBO Max in Europe, including Italy and Germany, for the first time as part of the streamer’s expansion. In the U.S., the Olympics will be broadcast on NBC and streamed live on Peacock.
The Olympic torch relay is a traditional pre-Games event, which symbolises unity and continuity, as the flame travels through host regions before the opening ceremony. The selection of Williams and Storrie as torchbearers highlights the increasing crossover between sport and popular culture in the lead-up to the 2026 Winter Olympics.
What Do We Know About Heated Rivalry?
Created by Canadian writer-director Jacob Tierney and adapted from Rachel Reid’s bestselling novels, Heated Rivalry has been creating a lot of buzz since its release. The series follows the lives of elite ice hockey players, Canadian Shane Hollander and Russian Ilya Rozanov, whose on-ice animosity conceals a passionate and secret romance.
Alongside Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie, the series features Francois Arnaud, Robbie G.K., Christina Chang, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Sophie Nelisse and Dylan Walsh in other prominent roles.
The series has gained wide acclaim and a strong international viewership base. Shortly after its debut, the series was renewed for a second season. Previously, during an interview with Variety, Storrie reacted to the show’s renewal and shared that he hopes the next season stays true to Reid’s books.
“These are obviously really well-constructed stories that a lot of people are really into,” he said adding, “The only way to make this make sense is to stick to the books and also honor the fandom of the people who are really spearheading this whole thing.”
