Chaand Mera Dil FIRST Review: Ananya Panday, Lakshya Impress In This 'Not A Regular Love Story'

Chaand Mera Dil FIRST Review: The first review of Ananya Panday and Lakshya’s Chaand Mera Dil is finally out. On Thursday evening, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to his social media handles and called the film ‘impactful’. He gave this movie a 3.5-star rating and revealed that while the leading pair impress in this Vivek Soni directorial, the second half of the film looks a little stretched.

Adarsh began by praising the movie as ‘not a regular love story’ and wrote, “#ChandMeraDil may come across as a typical love story since the makers haven’t revealed much in the promotional material… And while the film does appear to follow a familiar path in the first 30 minutes, it shifts gears soon after and takes you completely by surprise.”

Vivek Soni packs warmth, tenderness, and relatable moments into the narrative, but it’s the emotional quotient that elevates the film further… In fact, he ensures the tension builds gradually, never making it feel rushed. A particular sequence set at a plush restaurant in the second half takes the conflict to an altogether new level… The director’s storytelling prowess comes to the fore brilliantly in this standout sequence,” he continued.

The trade analyst then mentioned that the second half of the film could have been sharper and added, “The only stumbling block is the second half, which feels stretched at places and could’ve been tighter… In fact, the conflict loses some steam before the finale regains momentum.”

Adarsh further praised Lakshya’s performance in the movie and called it ‘fantastic’. He also mentioned that even Ananya Panday has delivered a ‘mature’ act in this movie.

Chand Mera Dil is directed by Vivek Soni, who previously helmed Meenakshi Sundareshwar. The film revolves around Aarav and Chandni (played by Lakshya and Ananya Panday respectively) and their intense love story. It is produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke Desouza under Dharma Productions. Chaand Mera Dil will hit theatres on May 22, 2026.
