Dakota Johnson is turning a new page in her personal life. Months after ending her long romance with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, the Hollywood star is said to be meeting new people again – and she’s

doing it with a calmer heart.

It has been around five months since Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin decided to go their separate ways. A source now says that the actor has been open to dating again and is feeling happier.

The source shared with ‘People’ magazine that Johnson, who split from Martin in June, has been “slowly dating again and she’s happy”. The insider also claimed she now seems “lighter and more at peace” as the relationship has reached its final finish.

Johnson and Martin were together for nearly eight years. They first sparked romance rumours back in 2017 and were last seen together publicly on 16 May.

Their breakup came not long after reports that the couple had been engaged for “years”. They had even triggered wedding rumours in 2020, but at the time, insiders said they were “in no rush to get married”.

Those close to the pair also said that the split “wasn’t exactly a shock”. Their relationship had apparently been facing the “same issues for a while”.

After the news became official, Johnson joked about what she would look for if she let someone else play cupid in her love life. Appearing on the Today show, she gave a blunt reply when asked about non-negotiables:
“Like, not an a–h—?”

While her personal life resets, the actor is keeping her professional world busy. She has a new film, Verity – adapted from Colleen Hoover’s novel – set to hit cinemas on 2 October 2026.
This year, she has already appeared in Materialists and comedy Splitsville. Johnson is also stepping behind the camera for the first time with A Tree Is Blue, co-starring Jessica Alba.

For now, it seems Dakota Johnson is enjoying a fresh start – and a move towards love that feels easier.
