Former Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin has said that the way Virat Kohli celebrated the first four wickets of the Gujarat Titans, it felt like it was him who had picked the wickets, as he took a hilarious dig at Kohli’s excited celebrations at the fall of a wicket.
Asked to bat first, Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted a formidable 254/5, powered by skipper Rajat Patidar, who produced one of the most explosive innings of the season.
After receiving two early reprieves, Patidar punished the opposition with effortless boundary-hitting throughout his knock. GT were then bowled out for 162, sending RCB into their fifth final (2009, 2011, 2016, 2025, 2026).
“Did you see Virat’s celebrations when the first four wickets fell? Pehle 4 wicket usne
hi liya hai (It seemed like he had taken those four wickets). From where do you get this kind of intensity?” Ashwin said while speaking on his YouTube channel.
“Har jo wicket hai, tera wicket jaisa kaise celebrate kar raha hai yaar? (How can you celebrate every wicket like it’s your wicket?) I enjoyed it a lot. Woh insaan nahi hai [He isn’t human],” Ashwin said.
“He is something else. He has come from some other planet. I don’t know where he has come from; he is not human,” Ashwin added.
Kohli had earlier provided Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a blazing start, scoring 43 off just 25 balls after the team was asked to bat first. He added 72 runs alongside Devdutt Padikkal before Gujarat Titans clawed their way back through Jason Holder, who removed both settled batters within the space of three balls.
But Patidar and Krunal Pandya swung the momentum with a ferocious counterattack. The pair stitched together a 95-run stand off just 47 deliveries, while Gujarat Titans were left to rue sloppy fielding and missed opportunities under pressure.
