The T20 World Cup 2026 is around the corner, with India hosting the mega ICC event for the first time since 2016. Defending champions Team India will begin their campaign against the USA at the Narendra Modi Stadium on February 8.
According to RevSportz, the men in blue have been grouped with Pakistan, Namibia, the Netherlands and the USA. Their marquee clash against Pakistan is likely scheduled for February 15 in Colombo. The tournament — jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka — will run from February 7 to March 8, marking the first time the T20 World Cup will be played during the Asian winter.

The report further stated that Mumbai is expected to host one of the semi-finals on March 5. Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium will stage the final on March 8. If Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will play their last-four match in Colombo. Likewise, should Sri Lanka reach the semi-final stage, they too will play at home. An intriguing scenario arises if Pakistan reach the final.
The India-Pakistan encounter, traditionally the biggest drawcard in global cricket, is expected to once again command massive attention despite the increasingly one-sided recent results. Beyond sport, the rivalry remains layered with geopolitical tension, adding greater weight and drama to the anticipated contest.
