Jaipur, Apr 27 (PTI) Two brothers were killed after they jumped into a well to rescue their kin in Deeg district of Rajasthan on Monday night, police said.
Deeg SP Kambale Sharan Gopinath said that Ravindra and his wife, Mahindera, had a verbal argument over some issue. In a fit of rage, she rushed out of the house and jumped into a dry well outside their house.
Her husband, Ravindra and brother-in-law, Rohit, also jumped into the well to save her.
Upon receiving information, the villagers gathered at the spot and pulled three of them out, with the help of ropes and rushed to a nearby hospital. Both brothers were declared dead while the woman is undergoing treatment.
The SP said prima facie, the men died due to inhaling toxic gas emanating from
the well.
The bodies were sent for postmortem. Further investigation is underway, police added. PTI SDA HIG HIG
