Rohit Shetty ‘Really Liked’ Mukesh Chhabra’s Role In Dhurandhar Casting

Rohit Shetty singled out casting director Mukesh Chhabra while speaking about pan-India cinema and the success of Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar.

milestone this week. The film, directed by Aditya Dhar and led by Ranveer Singh, has now surpassed the lifetime collections of RRR, placing it among the highest-grossing Indian films to date.

The commercial success formed the backdrop to comments made by filmmaker Rohit Shetty at a recent public event, where he was asked about the idea of making a pan-India film with actors from across different regional industries.

His answer shifted attention away from scale or budgets. It landed instead on casting.

What Did Rohit Shetty Say?

During a brief exchange on stage, Shetty was asked whether he would consider making a large, multi-industry film in the future.

“I’ll think about it,” he said, before adding that such a project would only happen if Mukesh Chhabra handled the casting. He then pointed to Chhabra’s work on Dhurandhar and suggested that any such initiative would have to start with him.

Shetty’s Earlier Praise For The Film And Its Team

Shetty had also posted about the film earlier in December on Instagram, calling the project a major achievement for its team.

For now, there is no indication that Shetty is actively developing a pan-India film with a cross-industry cast. His remarks were made in response to a question and framed as a possibility, not a plan.

What stood out instead was the focus on Mukesh Chhabra’s casting work – and the suggestion that any such large-scale project would begin there.
