Govinda’s family is getting ready for a new screen chapter. After the actor ruled Hindi cinema for years with his dance, comic timing and unmistakable mass connect, his wife Sunita Ahuja and son Yash Ahuja are now set to enter Bollywood together. The mother-son duo will reportedly be launched in a film backed by Ektaa Kapoor, with the project expected to release in September this year.

What makes the development interesting is not just Yash’s long-awaited debut, but the fact that Sunita will also be making her acting debut alongside him.

Sunita Ahuja To Play Yash’s Mother On Screen

In an interview with ANI, Sunita confirmed that she is part of Yash’s debut film and revealed that she will be seen playing his mother in the movie. Calling it a special

moment for the family, she said that it could be one of the rare instances in Hindi cinema where a real-life mother and son are being launched together.

“Main Yash ke saath picture kar rahi hoon. September mein picture release hogi. Main Ektaa Kapoor ko bahut pyaar karti hoon. Unki wajah se maine Netflix ka show kiya, aur main unse bahut pyaar karti hoon. Woh bhi mujhe bahut pyaar karti hain. Yash ki picture mein main uski maa ka hi role kar rahi hoon… Shayad industry mein pehli baar aisa hoga ki maa aur beta ek saath launch ho rahe hain,” Sunita shared.

Her remarks also underlined her fondness for Ektaa Kapoor, whom she credited for giving her a recent opportunity on streaming. Sunita was last seen in Netflix’s captive reality show Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, where she drew attention for her candid personality and her equations with fellow contestants, especially Ram Kapoor.

Sunita Seeks Blessings For Yash

Sunita also made an emotional appeal to audiences as Yash prepares to step into films. She said, “Main bas itna kehna chahti hoon ki aap sab mere bete Yash ko bhi wahi pyaar aur aashirwad dijiye jo aapne hamesha mujhe diya hai.”

Yash’s debut has been watched with curiosity for some time, given his father’s enduring popularity and the weight of the Govinda legacy. The film now positions him not merely as a star son launch, but as part of a family moment that brings Sunita into acting as well.
