The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has launched a six-month Certificate Programme in Cybersecurity and AI Security for working professionals through its Continuing Education Programme (CEP).
The programme aims to help professionals address emerging security challenges as artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into enterprise systems. It will focus on areas such as adversarial machine learning, large language model (LLM) prompt injection, agentic AI exploitation and model supply chain attacks.
The six-month programme will include 78 hours of live instruction across five modules and a capstone project. It will cover five emerging agentic AI attack areas: multimodal jailbreaks, MCP prompt injection, memory poisoning,
tool-calling exploitation and model hub supply chain attacks.
Participants will also gain practical experience with tools and frameworks such as PyRIT, Garak, Sigstore, OPA and Falco. Key areas of learning will include AI red teaming, adversarial machine learning, tool-calling security, memory poisoning and model supply chain risks.
As part of the capstone project, participants will build and deploy a production-grade AI security solution. IIT Delhi faculty members will evaluate the projects. Classes will be conducted live online on Saturdays and led by IIT Delhi faculty and industry professionals.
Eligibility Criteria
The programme is designed for cybersecurity professionals, AI and machine learning engineers, data scientists, DevOps and platform engineers, and governance, risk and compliance (GRC) professionals.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics or an equivalent discipline. They must have secured at least 50% marks and be familiar with at least one programming language.
On successful completion of the programme, participants will receive an e-Certificate of Completion issued directly by CEP-IIT Delhi. The certificate will be digitally verified.
Prof Subodh Vishnu Sharma, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Delhi, said that security must become an integral part of AI engineering as AI systems become central to enterprise operations.
“As AI moves into the core of enterprise systems, security can no longer be treated as separate from AI engineering. This programme takes a threat-first approach, helping professionals understand how AI systems are attacked and then build the defences to secure them, in line with India’s evolving regulatory requirements. With IIT Delhi faculty and industry practitioners guiding them, participants will work on real-world AI security problems,” Prof Sharma stated.
