Lionel Messi GOAT Tour Of India 2025 LIVE Updates: Lionel Messi’s long-awaited return to India finally became reality late Friday night, as the World Cup–winning Argentine arrived in Kolkata to kick off a three-day tour of the country.
Accompanied by fellow Argentina stars Luis Suárez and Rodrigo De Paul, Messi’s arrival triggered scenes of near hysteria outside the airport.
Messi last visited India in 2011, when Argentina played a friendly in Kolkata.
Messi’s Packed Schedule For Kolkata
Messi’s Kolkata schedule is stacked from sunrise to afternoon.
Saturday will begin with a private meet-and-greet between 9.30 and 10.30 am, reserved for select guests and organisers. Shortly after, Messi will virtually inaugurate a statue dedicated to him, a symbolic
tribute reflecting the city’s deep-rooted love for football.
Later in the morning, several city celebrities — including Subhashree and Churni Ganguly — are expected to attend another meet-and-greet at the hotel. From there, Messi will virtually unveil a 70-foot statue before heading to Yuva Bharati Stadium.
Finally, after 11:30 am, Messi will attend the GOAT concert, followed by a fan interaction programme and a felicitation ceremony attended by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Former India cricket captain Sourav Ganguly is also set to be present, alongside Shah Rukh Khan.
