Kottayam (Kerala), Jun 28 (PTI) Two students drowned after entering a water-filled quarry for a bath along with three others near Mukkootuthara on Sunday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Ashley Santhosh (19), an automobile engineering student, and Asher Sudheesh (15), a plus one student.
Both were residents of Kodithottam.
According to police, the incident occurred at around 6 pm when the five-member group, all residents of Kodithottam, entered the abandoned quarry pond for a bath. The two allegedly drowned while bathing.
Police, fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
Police registered a case of unnatural death and launched an investigation.
The bodies were shifted to the Kanjirappally Taluk Hospital
