In Indian society, the bond between a mother and son is often regarded as one of the most sacred and revered relationships. The emotional depth, affection, and mutual respect embedded in this relationship are considered beyond question. However, in the pursuit of online fame and social media engagement, some individuals appear to be crossing ethical lines, even at the cost of undermining this cherished bond.
A recent video that has gone viral on social media has sparked widespread outrage for this very reason. In the video, a woman named Jiya Vyas (@jiya_browny) is seen dancing with her young son to the Bollywood song Second Hand Jawani.
While the video was presumably intended to be light-hearted, many viewers have taken strong offence to the performance,
calling it inappropriate and disrespectful.
Mother – Son Viral Video
Jiya is seen wearing a sheer white saree adorned with red heart motifs, while her son is dressed casually in jeans and a T-shirt. In the clip, Jiya dances closely with her son, who appears to be recording the performance on a mobile phone. The video was posted with the caption: “Mum’s cute son”.
However, viewers were quick to criticise both the choreography and the overall tone of the video, calling it objectionable and unbecoming of a mother-son relationship. Some even went so far as to comment that performing a mujra (a traditional courtesan dance) on the street would have been more acceptable.

Upon reviewing Jiya’s profile, it was found that she frequently uploads similar videos; some featuring her twins, others showing her changing clothes in public, and even performing romantic songs alongside her children.
Social Media Reactions
The video in question has now garnered over 12 million views, more than 452,000 likes, and over 6,000 comments, many of which express disgust and concern.
Social media users expressed strong disapproval, with one describing the video as “a disgrace to the concept of motherhood”. Another accused her of doing “anything to go viral” and urged her to at least respect the mother-son bond.
Several commenters criticised the inappropriate nature of the dance, saying things like, “Don’t dance obscenely in front of children”, and that she was “tarnishing the name of motherhood”.
Other comments were even more aggressive, with many users questioning the morality and parenting standards reflected in the content.
