New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI) Two NDMC employees were killed in the Delhi Cantonment area when a Thar hit their motorcycle from behind as they were returning home from work, police said on Thursday.
Anju, around 50, and Sukhbir, around 45, were returning to Sector 1 in Dwarka from their workplace at Lodhi Road when the accident took place near the IOC red light around 5 pm on Wednesday, they said.
A staff member of the Delhi Cantonment police station, who was returning from duty, noticed the accident and informed the police. Both the victims were rushed to a hospital, where they were declared dead, police said.
During initial inquiry, police found that the motorcycle slipped on the road and the Thar, which was coming from behind, ran over it.
Locals caught
the Thar driver, identified as Bhupendra (26), a resident of Jhajjar in Haryana, and handed him over to the police.
Bhupendra, who runs a milk booth in Rohini, has been booked under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106(a) (causing death by negligence) of the BNS, police said. PTI SSJ ARI ARI
