Chandigarh, Jul 9 (PTI) The maximum temperatures dropped after rain lashed many parts of Haryana and Punjab on Thursday, according to the Met here.
Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, which witnessed 35 mm rainfall during the day, registered a maximum temperature of 28.9 degrees Celsius, over five notches below normal, the met said.
In Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Panchkula, Jind, Palwal and Yamunanagar were among other places receiving rain.
Ambala recorded a maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal, it said.
Narnaul recorded a high of 32 degrees Celsius, six notches below normal, while Bhiwani recorded a low of 33 degrees Celsius.
In Punjab, Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Rupnagar were among
other places receiving rain.
Amritsar and Gurdaspur recorded maximums of 36.2 degrees and 35.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, it said.
Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximums of 32.8 degrees and 29.7 degrees Celsius, two and five notches below normal, respectively. PTI SUN SHS
