New Delhi, Sep 16 (PTI) Delhi on Wednesday recorded a maximum temperature of 36.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal, with a prediction of light rain tomorrow.
The minimum temperature in the city settled at 26.8 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above the season’s normal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The Lodi Road station recorded the highest maximum temperature at 36.3 degrees Celsius, 3.3 degrees above normal, while Ayanagar recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius, 2.4 degrees above normal.
Palam recorded 34.7 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees above normal and the Ridge 35.7 degrees Celsius, 1.6 degrees above normal.
The weather office has forecast partly cloudy skies in the capital on Thursday, with the possibility of very light
rain at isolated places between morning and noon.
No rainfall was recorded at Safdarjung, Palam, Lodi Road and Ayanagar during the 24 hours ending 8.30 am on Wednesday.
Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) stood at 94 at 4 pm on Wednesday, in the “satisfactory” category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.
According to the CPCB’s AQI scale, a reading between 0 and 50 is considered “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor” and 401-500 “severe”. PTI SSJ VN VN
