Food and travel experiences can vary wildly from one traveller to another. While several foreign tourists have previously taken to social media to share stories of falling ill or experiencing food poisoning during trips to India, one American man has shared a rather different experience.
The US-based travel vlogger Jake Braymiller recently shared a video on his Instagram account, where he listed countries where he has contracted food poisoning, including America, but shared he surprisingly never fell sick while eating in India.
He Never Fell Sick In India The clip began with him seemingly enjoying a hearty Indian meal of rice, curry and papad served on a banana leaf, which he was eating with his hand. As the video continued, he began listing countries
where he suffered from food poisoning. His list included Germany, Mexico, Colombia, Honduras, China, the Philippines, Indonesia and even his home country, the United States. Interestingly, India was not among them
“Every country where I’ve gotten food poisoning. Most were probably my fault,” he wrote in the caption of the post.
The omission of India from the list caught the attention of viewers, with one Instagram user saying, “Just India for me… so far.” Responding to the comment, Braymiller wrote, “You must have a stronger stomach than me! But funny I didn’t get sick in India haha.”
Internet Is Surprised He Got Food Poisoning In Germany
His video has since garnered much attention on the platform, with people sharing their own stories of food poisoning while visiting different countries and some were also shocked that he suffered after eating food in Germany.
“I became lactose intolerant when I moved to the US. Also can’t eat gluten anymore. Grew up in India on these things never had issues!” shared a user.
“I got it in Thailand. Not because of some street food, no. It was 7-Eleven,” a person said.
“How on earth can you get food poisoning in Germany from a bratwurst in a bread roll? I mean, honestly, I’m a 54-year-old German woman and I’ve eaten hundreds of bratwursts at all sorts of festivals in Germany, and I’ve definitely never got food poisoning,” an individual asked.
Meanwhile, a section of people told him that he might be the problem, with one saying, “Maybe the problem is your gut and not the food ig.”
Someone said, “Weird flexing about having a weak immune system.”
