Many people dream of leaving their 9-to-5 jobs, but family responsibilities and other pressures often make it hard. An investment banker recently decided to quit the corporate world after feeling stressed, burned out and unhappy with the routine. He explained that every day felt the same, long hours, a tiring commute and work just to pay bills. The thought of continuing like this for another 25-30 years until retirement was “scary” for him.
To change his path, he is now building a program and a community to support people who feel anxious, low on energy or isolated in the corporate grind. He questions why schools and society don’t teach practical skills to earn money sustainably, without being stuck in a stressful job. While sharing his personal
struggle struck a chord with some, the post received mixed reactions online.
Investment Banker Quits Corporate Life After 10 Years
In the video circulating on X (Formerly Twitter), he said, “I am in my office parking. I’m going to go up and put down my papers, I’m gonna quit the corporate. I am 35, working at an investment bank and I’m done with this survival game. It’s been 10-10.5 years of my career and I’m realising every day is the same. There’s nothing different. I’m just coming, logging into this office, I just drove for 1 and a half hours to pay my bills and it is very, very scary that I
need to do this for another 25-30 years of my life till retirement.”
“That’s not something I want to do. So I’m going to quit and I’m building a program, I’m building a tribe to help anyone who feels anxiety, burnout, low energy, fighting in isolation. Why have we been taught that this corporate job is the only thing that can be done in our lives. To earn money, why isn’t there a skillset taught to us by which we can earn money in a sustainable way without slogging,” he added.
Man before quitting his job says..
I don’t think I can do this for another 25 or 30 years.
Ten years in an investment bank,Ten years of grinding, Ten years of showing up, performing, surviving,And now? Low energy,Constant anxiety,Burnout…

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “This is a nonsensical point of view. People have to do a job otherwise, how will the company run? If we imagine all become founders who will run the company. People who have major responsibilities and come from middle class back ground don’t think like this unless you made some backup or have a solid business idea. These days, social media has made it cool, but most of them go back to job after 1 year of motivation. Grinding is a part of life specially for those who are not born with a silver spoon.”
Another shared, “I’m from an older generation where ‘grind through it’ was the norm. After 45+ years in corporate life, I can relate to what you have said. Today, work-life balance is broken. Burnout isn’t weakness, it’s systemic. Work was meant to support life, not consume it.”
“This is not one person, it whole generation problem to quit their job,” a comment read.
An individual stated, “If the job is draining your health and your relationships, it’s not ‘just work.’ It’s a bad investment in your only timeline. If he ever gets the chance, I genuinely hope he can try a different role or environment and see if that brings some of his energy back.”
Another mentioned, “Jobs are always just like slaves, I don’t know why they are always tech people. They always try to be innovative and the salary never becomes Rich and always tries to take risks in life, then you will Rich otherwise, your life and money go only in EMI.”
When one more added, “When the prime minister can work 18 hours a day at the age of 75 to take care of 140 Crore Indians. When soldiers stand on the border for long hours, putting their lives on the line. Average man can’t take a few hits?” Another criticising his opinion replied, “Because working towards something important, building, protecting your country, while difficult, it gives you the motivation. Sitting in the same cubicle doing data entry for some pointless software for 10 years, that’s just torture.”
The person who shared the video explained that he is creating a program and a community to help people deal with the pressures and stress of corporate life. He wants to support others who feel trapped at work and encourages them to come together and find better ways to live and earn.
