Vaibhav Sooryavanshi brought his dancing shoes to the Indian dressing room and put on a show with his teammates after helping clinch victory in the ICC U19 World Cup 2026 final in Harare on Friday. The Bihar and Rajasthan Royals batting prodigy gave the celebrations a Bhojpuri touch after requesting a change of songs from Punjabi and then unleashing his never-seen-before avatar alongside skipper Ayush Mhatre and the rest.
“Punjabi gana nahi samajh main aa raha hai, guys, abhi Bhojpuri lagega (I can’t understand the Punjabi song, guys, please bring on some Bhojpuri music),” the 14-year-old says in a clip that has gone viral on social media.

In the clip, Sooryavanshi shows his different side, dancing
unabashedly with his teammates the moment the Bhojpuri song was played.
It was a release of all the stress and the pressure he must’ve been through as a pivotal cog in the Indian U19’s wheels throughout the competition.
Sooryavanshi later left his teammates for a brief moment and quipped, “Kaafi dance ho gaya guys mere taraf se. Aaj ke liye itna kaafi hai (that’s a lot of dance from my side, guys, this is enough for the day).”
Sooryavanshi was once again the difference for India U19 with his sensational innings at the top of the order against England at the Harare Sports Club.
The left-hander played a innings for the ages, blasting 175 off just 80 deliveries, including 15 fours and 15 sixes.
It was his memorable innings that gave India U19s a gigantic score of 411/9, which they later defended by 100 runs.
Sooryavanshi not only won the player of the match award but was also declared player of the tournament for his 439 runs in seven innings at a strike-rate of 169.49.
