Janhvi Kapoor has shared her first post since the backlash surrounding Peddi gained momentum on social media. Ever since Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Peddi was released in theatres, fans have been unhappy about how the actress is portrayed in the film. Janhvi, who plays Achiyyamma in the film, is often objectified with unnecessary shots of her chest and waist.
Seemingly unfazed by the chatter surrounding her recent performance, Janhvi Kapoor took to Instagram to share pictures from a fashion shoot. Janhvi looked stunning in a grey jacket and skirt co-ord set paired with a white shirt, red sweater, blue handbag and black heels. She completed her look by wearing a pair of sleek glasses.

Fans took to the comments section to praise her beauty, but some also urged her not to sign a film like Peddi again. One person wrote, “Beauty of this planet ❤️❤️.” Another added, “My favorite actress ❤️.” A comment read, “You shouldn’t have done Peddi 😢.” Another comment read, “Please don’t do Peddi type of movies; they just use you 😢😢 choose good movies 🔥❤️❤️❤️ love you 😍.”
As per the buzz on social media, Janhvi’s fans aren’t the only ones upset with Peddi. Interestingly, Janhvi Kapoor allegedly ‘liked’ an Instagram post calling out the makers for oversexualising her character. Parts of the post call out the makers for adding excessive shots of Janhvi’s “waist, midriff and backside” and being “obsessed” with her.
The post also reads, “It is easy to blame an actress for the roles she takes, but the actual timeline tells a different story. Reports show that Janhvi Kapoor explicitly questioned these shots during post-production, a boundary that perfectly mirrors her recent public stance against the industry’s habit of oversexualizing women.”
“She drew a professional line, but the final edit kept the footage anyway. This isn’t a case of an actress failing to stand up for herself. It is a director choosing to ignore a boundary because he decided her consent mattered less than his box office numbers,” the post also read. Hindustan Times also reported that Janhvi had liked the post. However, it was not visible at the time of publishing this article and has seemingly been removed.
