Gurugram, Jun 10 (PTI) Dramatic scenes unfolded in the Bilaspur area of Gurugram on Wednesday, where a clash erupted between two groups over a lucrative manpower supply contract.
Dozens of individuals arrived in multiple vehicles to compete for the contract, which is associated with a major company. They not only opened fire but also vandalised four vehicles, according to police.
Following the incident, those involved in the clash fled the scene, resulting in widespread panic in the vicinity of Ansal Society.
According to police, thousands of people are employed at a company near Ansal Society that engages in a manpower supply contract worth crores of rupees each month. On Wednesday, two rival groups clashed while attempting to secure this contract.
Eyewitnesses reported that numerous individuals in several vehicles suddenly began firing shots near Ansal Society, leading to a chaotic battle for dominance on the street, during which vehicles were damaged.
There have been no reports of fatalities, but sources said that one person sustained a gunshot wound. After receiving alerts about the incident, police arrived at the scene; however, the suspects had already fled, leaving behind their damaged vehicles.
Police located four vehicles at the site, including a Thar and two Brezzas. Investigations revealed that these vehicles are registered to residents of Shikohpur and Sahrawan villages. A black Scorpio was also found parked suspiciously in the area.
“Our police team reached the spot after receiving the information. We are currently gathering facts from the site. No reports of injuries have been received so far. The situation is now under control, and a thorough investigation is underway,” Bilaspur police station SHO Inspector Sunil Kumar said. PTI COR MPL MPL
