Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge hit theatres on March 19 and has since been enjoying a phenomenal run at the box office. Starring Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun in pivotal roles, the film has shattered several box office records and emerged as the highest-grossing film of the year. Amid the film’s massive success and the overwhelming love pouring in from audiences, Arjun Rampal recently opened up about the response to the movie and revealed how the entire team reacted to its remarkable performance.
While speaking to NDTV, Arjun Rampal, who played the role of Major Iqbal in Dhurandhar 2, said, “I’m still pinching myself; you know what I mean? I think for the whole team it has been phenomenal.
Way, way, way beyond anybody’s wildest dreams or imagination. It just throws you into a sense of gratitude.”
Arjun shared that even amid the celebrations and widespread excitement surrounding the film, the cast and crew are still trying to process its extraordinary success. Speaking about staying in touch with director Aditya Dhar following the film’s blockbuster run, the actor revealed that the atmosphere within the team has been nothing short of surreal, with everyone overwhelmed by the love and response pouring in from audiences. He added, “Oh yeah. They’re all dudes, man. They’re all ‘Dhurandhars’. Everybody’s in shock. There’s so much dopamine going on.”
He further shared that Aditya Dhar has also been trying to find a sense of peace and balance amid the overwhelming frenzy surrounding the film’s success. He mentioned that Aditya has been visiting temples frequently, as he enjoys spending time in such spiritual spaces. Speaking about how the film’s phenomenal success has impacted the team emotionally, Arjun shared that the most special part of the journey has been everyone’s effort to remain grounded amid the excitement. He added that despite experiencing an incredible high due to the overwhelming response, the entire team has been seeking balance and calmness rather than getting carried away by the frenzy, emphasizing that maintaining that sense of stability is extremely important.
He also revealed that he personally chose to disconnect after the film’s release. “As soon as the film released, I went back home to Goa. I’ve been with my family, spending time in nature and just being at peace,” Arjun concluded.
