Gulshan Grover recalls his conversation about Dhurandhar with Shatrughan Sinha
While speaking to India Today, Gulshan Grover, who is currently busy promoting Matka King, recalled
a recent conversation with Shatrughan Sinha and Rakesh Roshan. He shared that during a dinner, Sinha mentioned watching Dhurandhar and told him that it was the kind of film he should have been a part of. Grover said, “Two days back, Shatrughan Sinha was there, who has played anti-hero, strong, powerful characters, Rakesh Roshan, Shashi Ranjan — we were having dinner. So, I walked in late, and he (Sinha) said, ‘I saw Dhurandhar. Gulshan Grover, that was a film in which you should have been there’.”
He further revealed: “He (Sinha) even said how wonderful it would have been if I had played Rehman Dakait, Akshaye Khanna’s role. So, I said, even I agree with that. The public also agrees.”
In the same conversation, the Bad Man of Bollywood also spoke about how the trends from the past often resurface in the present. He added, “We are wearing bell-bottoms these days — it’s all coming back. So many wonderful songs are coming back as remakes. Performances are coming back.”
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2 has been enjoying an unstoppable run at the box office, despite new films hitting theatres and attempting to slow its momentum. It has already crossed the Rs 1700 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
