G-Dragon appeared on MBC’s “Son Seok Hee’s Questions” this week, answering candidly about his journey over the past decade. The BIGBANG star talked openly about his experiences and changes in life since
his last visit to the show.
G-Dragon said that he has learnt the importance of taking breaks and separating work from his personal life, which he said was especially true during his time in the army.
When asked about his music and career, G-Dragon described the constant pressure he faces as a public figure, but said the last ten years had helped him become more mature. He said that now, before reacting, he tries to stop and think. This new habit helps him deal with things in a calmer and better way. “Before, I reacted emotionally. Now I pause, think, and handle things more sensibly,” he said.
Waiting for the Right Time to Marry
The conversation turned to his personal life and future plans, particularly marriage. G-Dragon kept his answer grounded: “I’ll get married when it’s time,” he told Son Seok Hee.
The singer described marriage as an unexplored world that excites him but isn’t something he feels he can rush. He laughed at the idea, saying, “It’s not like enlistment where the army calls and I go. Marriage isn’t fully in my control.”
When the host commented that someone might propose to him, G-Dragon replied, “Maybe. But I wouldn’t say yes easily.” The interview showed that he is open to getting married, but he is also fine with waiting and letting things happen in their own time.
Looking Ahead for a Fresh Start
Looking to the future, G-Dragon shared that he wants another “comma,” a fresh start or period of rest. As BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary approaches, he recognised both the challenges and rewards of leading the group. He summed up his hopes for the next chapter with three keywords suggested during the chat: no longer being deceived, understanding his purpose, and starting anew.
Fans gained insight into not just the artist’s ambitions, but his mindset as he approaches his forties: “I want to live up to that, ‘not deceived’ as they say in Korean for turning forty.”
