For the opening of the Venice Biennale, Radhika Ambani arrived in a look that felt both cinematic and deeply referential. Dressed in Givenchy Haute Couture, she leaned into a kind of elegance that no longer dominates red carpets today- restrained, sculpted and quietly aristocratic rather than overtly dramatic.
For this significant cultural moment, Radhika opted for a delicate mint blue one-shoulder gown that exuded ethereal grace. The fluid silhouette featured a dramatic draped shoulder detail, creating a soft yet sculptural effect. What made the look truly captivating was the exquisite shimmering crystal trim along the neckline, which caught the Venetian light beautifully with every movement. A matching crystal arm cuff added a refined finishing
touch, elevating the entire ensemble into true haute couture territory.
The silhouette itself carried echoes of old-world couture dressing. The structured gown, cut close through the bodice before flowing into a softer line, balanced precision with movement. Meanwhile, the fabric appeared almost liquid under the Venetian light, catching subtle reflections without relying on excessive embellishment. Instead of spectacle, the look relied on tailoring, proportion and mood.
Styled with a sleek, high ponytail that highlighted her delicate features and radiant complexion, Radhika’s overall appearance struck the perfect balance between contemporary glamour and old-world charm. The soft mint hue complemented her glowing skin tone, while the clean lines of the gown allowed the intricate crystal detailing to take centre stage.
The choice of Givenchy was particularly meaningful, as Radhika drew inspiration from iconic style legends — Audrey Hepburn, Jackie Kennedy, Gayatri Devi, and Indira Devi — women who masterfully blended saris with Western dresses, creating signatures that were both regal and timeless. Her look successfully captured that same spirit: a modern interpretation of old-money elegance with an international appeal.
Accessories remained understated, allowing the architecture of the couture itself to remain central. Her jewellery added softness rather than distraction, while the beauty styling stayed polished and luminous. The hair, kept controlled and classic, reinforced the overall mood of timeless sophistication.
Radhika Merchant was accompanied by Isha Ambani, Nita Ambani, husband Anant Ambani and Anand Piramal to the La Biennale di Venezia. The Ambani family are presenting India’s cultural legacy on the global stage by opening the National Pavilion of India at the world’s most prestigious international cultural exhibitions. It is held every two years in Venice, Italy, alternating between Art and Architecture.
Isha Ambani, who was recently in New York City to attend the Met Gala 2026, wore a wine-coloured, floor-length, saree-inspired gown while mother Nita Ambani opted for a magnificent Banarasi brocade Kaduwa saree paired with a bespoke Ratna Rivière necklace.
