Bihar’s Most Educated Candidate Prof KC Sinha Fails Poll Test, Loses Kumhrar Seat

Mathematician-turned-politician Krishna Chandra Sinha lost Kumhrar Vidhan Sabha seat to BJP candidate. Hailed as one of the most educated candidates in the Bihar election, author, mathematician, and IIT-JEE

professor Sinha was fielded by Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj party from Kumhrar seat.

As per the result announced by ECI on Friday, BJP candidate Sanjay Kumar Sinha won the seat.

NDA’s BJP candidate Sanjay Kumar Sinha received 100,485 votes, while Congress’s Indradeep Kumar got only 52,961 votes. KC Sinha secured third position with 15,017 votes.

Upon the declaration of the result, Sinha posted on X and thanked the people of Kumhrar constituency.

KC Sinha: ‘Mahaguru’ Of Bihar

Kalyan Chandra Sinha was born on December 29, 1954, in Bhojpur to Rewati Raman Prasad and Lakshmi Devi. He topped the Bihar board examinations, and earned a National Merit Scholarship. He went on to attend Patna Science College, where he completed his BSc and MSc degrees, achieving double gold medals. In 1990, he earned his PhD.

At the age of 28, Sinha wrote his first book, “Coordinate Geometry,” and has since authored over 70 books. Many of his works have been included in the school curriculum in Bihar and other states for the past three decades. He is popularly known as “Mahaguru” in Bihar.

KC Sinha has been a professor for 59 years, beginning his teaching career at Patna University. He also runs a YouTube channel with nearly 9,000 subscribers, where he shares mathematics lessons and tutorials.

Sinha has held several prominent positions, including Head of the Department of Mathematics and Dean of the Faculty of Science at Patna University. He was also the Principal of Patna Science College, one of Bihar’s top colleges.

Later, he served as the Vice-Chancellor of Nalanda Open University.
