Prahlad Kakkar Recalls Working With Pooja Bedi, Calls Her ‘Maddest, Wildest’

Ad filmmaker Prahlad Kakkar went down his memory lane and shared his experience of working with Pooja Bedi and her late mother, Protima Bedi. He recalled Protima’s courageous stride across a Mumbai beach, something he conceded he could never emulate. While Prahlad was always in awe of Pooja’s boldness, he also worried about her safety.

Prahlad Kakkar revealed in an interview with Vickey Lalwani that Protima Bedi ‘dumped’ Pooja on him because she couldn’t control her. Pooja ultimately began working for him. Prahlad said that she would refuse to take public transport, preferring hitch rides throughout Mumbai.

On one occasion, she entered the office with multiple duplicate Swatch watches and began giving

them to her coworkers. When Prahlad was asked how she obtained the watches, Pooja said that the man who drove her to Tardeo was a watch trader. He offered her one from his briefcase, and she politely requested some more to distribute it to others and brought them to the office. While Prahlad was impressed by her boldness, he also worried for her safety, asking, “Are you shameless? Don’t you think he could have taken advantage of you?”

Prahlad added, “She was something else. She was the maddest, wildest young lady I’ve ever met. She was amazing. There was nothing in the world that she thought that she couldn’t do. And she would get away with it. The entire office was distracted by her, because she was such a good-looking girl.”

In the same interview, he also recalled memories of a young Aishwarya Rai as well. Prahlad Kakkar has spoken up about Aishwarya Rai and Salman Khan’s tumultuous split in 2002, detailing how much the actress was devastated after feeling abandoned by Bollywood. Kakkar claimed that he saw directly how the separation affected Aishwarya, particularly professionally.
