Did Ramayana Makers Gift A Gold-Coloured Shankha To Indian Attendees At San Diego Comic-Con?

Ramayana’s trailer was one of the most anticipated assets, and its delay had left moviegoers disappointed. While the trailer of the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer is yet to release in India, it was screened at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2026. Now, a new update has emerged from the San Diego event. As per a viral video circulating online, attendees, particularly members of the Indian diaspora, received an exclusive gift from the film’s makers.

The video circulating online features a lady revealing the gift she received at the Ramayana event. The video shows her opening a beautiful pink presentation box featuring a lotus embroidered on it. Inside the box was a note from the Ramayana team along with a gold-coloured shankha (conch shell). The intricately

carved souvenir, inspired by the epic, soon went viral on social media, with many fans questioning whether it was an official gift from the film’s makers.

At the event, the makers clarified that reports of the movie arriving earlier than its planned release are false and that Ramayana: Part 1 will be a Diwali 2026 release.

WhileRanbir Kapoor is playing Lord Ram in Ramayana, Yash will be seen essaying Ravana. Meanwhile, Sai Pallavi will also be seen as Goddess Sita in the movie. Sunny Deol and Ravi Dubey will play the roles of Hanuman and Lakshman, respectively. On the other hand, Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Mandodari and Surpanakha. Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha, and Indira Krishnan are also part of the project.

Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a theatrical release this Diwali, while the second chapter will release on Diwali 2027.

Earlier this year, in April, the team unveiled an introductory teaser, Rama, to coincide with Hanuman Jayanti. Running for 2 minutes and 38 seconds, the teaser offered the first glimpse of Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama. It, too, was granted a ‘U’ certificate by the CBFC. Planned as a two-part cinematic saga, Ramayana is set for a worldwide IMAX release. The first instalment is scheduled to hit theatres during Diwali 2026, followed by the second chapter on Diwali 2027.
