Woman Calls Masti 4 Trailer 'Disgusting', Director Milap Zaveri Promises Film Has Strong Female Roles

The Masti gang is back but not everyone’s laughing this time. The trailer of Masti 4, which dropped on Tuesday after a short delay, has left the internet divided. While some fans were excited to see the franchise

return, many others, especially on social media, weren’t impressed, calling the trailer “cheap” and “vulgar.” One woman’s sharp post on X (formerly Twitter) even caught the attention of director Milap Zaveri himself.

Woman questions Masti 4 trailer’s tone

The trailer, unveiled on Tuesday after a short delay, features the original trio, Vivek Oberoi, Aftab Shivdasani and Riteish Deshmukh, along with new additions Nargis Fakhri, Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor. However, a section of social media users was quick to react negatively.

One female user took to X to question the film’s tone and the actors’ choices. She wrote, “How do they face the females in their house after doing such films, you will never know (sic).”

In another post, she added, “If DISGUST was a genre, this trailer is the topper. Full confidence in our janta to watch & have no issues with the content. Arrey it’s just ‘fun’ yaar (sic).”

Milap Zaveri defends his film

Director Milap Zaveri addressed the criticism directly, urging audiences not to judge the film by its trailer. He responded, “Mam pls do see the film. You may be pleasantly surprised. Women have a v strong role and POV (sic).”

The trailer has received mixed to negative responses from viewers, with many calling out its tone and humour. One social media user commented, “Funny to kuch nhi h bs vulgarity bhari padi hai (sic),” while another added, “Very cheap (sic).” A third person wrote, “Extreme level ki vulgerity daal kr mastii 4 bna di (sic).”

Cast, release date and franchise history

Directed by Milap Zaveri, Masti 4 also stars Ruhii Singh, Shreya Sharma, Elnaaz Norouzi, Shaad Randhawa, Nishant Singh Malkani, and Natalia Janoszek. The film is scheduled to release on November 21, 2025.

The Masti franchise began in 2004 with the first film turning into a box office hit. Its sequel, Grand Masti (2013), enjoyed similar commercial success. The third instalment, Great Grand Masti (2016), however, underperformed following an online leak prior to its release.
