A 36-year-old dancer was killed after a truck rammed into him when he parked his car on the side of a highway in Bengaluru to investigate a snag.
The victim, Sudheendra, has appeared in several television reality shows. He had purchased a Maruti Suzuki Eeco and was on his way from Bengaluru to Tyamagondlu in Bengaluru Rural district to show his brother the car on Tuesday, NDTV reported.
While en route, he noticed an issue in the car and parked it on the side of the highway near Pemmanahalli in Nelamangala taluk to inspect.

NDTV cited a video showing the car parked on the side of the highway and Sudheendra by its side with a truck driving straight in the distance. The truck could be seen speeding towards the car and Sudheendra noticed it but appeared to freeze. The truck hit him side-on, sandwiching him between it and the car, and then turned left.
Though the truck slowed and stopped but when the driver realised that the man was dead, he fled.
The truck driver was arrested a few hours later, Dabaspete police said.
“The driver has said he fell asleep while driving. We are verifying the claim,” an officer said.
