Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M Scindia, will depart for Shillong today on a two-day visit to the North Eastern Region. During his visit, the minister will participate in a series of important meetings, including the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) in Shillong, Meghalaya.
On June 4, Scindia will attend the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council at the State Convention Centre in Shillong. The meeting will be chaired by Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Amit Shah, who is also the Chairman of the Council. The session will deliberate on key issues concerning the holistic development of the North Eastern Region, including regional connectivity,
infrastructure development, economic growth, and enhanced inter-state coordination.
During the visit, the minister will also participate in a meeting related to the North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC). Discussions will focus on leveraging space technology and advanced technological solutions to accelerate development across the North Eastern states.
The visit is significant in the context of reviewing ongoing development initiatives in the region and discussing future strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth. The Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region has been actively pursuing a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening connectivity, infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, skill development, and economic opportunities across the eight North Eastern states.
