Fire breaks out in Ahmedabad building, 20 evacuated; no casualties

May 23 (PTI) A fire broke out in a 12-storey building in Jodhpur area of Ahmedabad on Saturday, prompting the evacuation of at least 20 residents, officials said, adding that nobody was injured.

“The blaze erupted in a flat on the third floor of Ratnakar-III building in the morning,” said S B Jadeja, divisional fire officer of Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services.

An electrical fault is suspected to be the cause, he said, adding that ten fire tenders brought the blaze under control. PTI KVM NSK
