‘Please Call Me Anna Konidala’: Pawan Kalyan’s Wife Requests Fans Ahead Of Her Birthday

Telugu superstar and politician Pawan Kalyan’s wife, Anna Konidala, has requested fans to stop calling her by her maiden surname, Lezhneva, and instead use her married surname. She revealed that she adopted her husband’s last name, ‘Konidala’, right after they got married, and all her official documents since then have carried that surname. She explained that a name is deeply personal and, with her birthday approaching, she felt it was the right time to make the request.

On Monday, Anna Konidala took to her Instagram to share a note that read, “A name is such a personal thing. With my birthday coming up soon, I felt like it was finally the right moment to write this. I’ve been meaning to do it ever since I started this Instagram account. I wrote

it, deleted it, came back to it again, and I just couldn’t find the right way to say it.”

She shared that people have mostly known her as Anna Lezhneva because that was the name that surfaced when the news about her marriage with Pawan Kalyan came out in 2013. However, she clarified that she has been using the name Anna Konidala in all the official documents after their marriage.

“Most people first got to know me as Anna Lezhneva because that’s the name that was everywhere when news about our marriage came out. The funny thing is, our marriage certificate is actually the last official document where that surname appears. On that day, I took my husband’s surname and became Anna Konidala. So, if you’ve read this far, I just have one small request. Please call me Anna Konidala. That’s my name, and it’s the one I feel like myself with. Thank you for understanding. It really means a lot to me,” she further added.

Anna also shared a throwback photo with Pawan Kalyan and revealed that it was clicked during their first trip to Russia together. “P.S. The photo was taken during our very first trip to Saint Petersburg, Russia, together,” she wrote.

Born in Russia, Anna Lezhneva is a model and actress. She first crossed paths with Pawan Kalyan while filming for the romantic movie Teen Maar in 2011. They reportedly fell in love on the sets. After two years of dating, the couple decided to get married. On September 30, 2013, Pawan Kalyan and Anna Lezhneva tied the knot under the Special Marriage Act in Hyderabad. In 2017, Anna and Pawan welcomed a baby boy, Mark Shankar Pawanovich. Anna already had a daughter, Polena Anjana Pawanova, from her previous marriage.

Pawan Kalyan has been married three times. He first tied the knot with Nandini in 1997, but the marriage ended in separation in 1999.
