Latur (Maharashtra), Jun 23 (PTI) The Latur police in Maharashtra have traced 121 missing persons, including 14 abducted minor girls, during a special campaign conducted between June 8 and 22, officials said.
The ‘Operation Shodh-4’ operation was launched across Maharashtra on the directions of the Director General of Police (DGP) to trace abducted children and missing persons.
A total of 14 abducted girls were traced during the operation in Latur and reunited with their parents, they said.
The police also succeeded in locating 73 missing women and 32 men during the operation, taking the total number of traced persons to 121, the officials said.
The campaign also focused on vulnerable children found wandering in public places, working at brick kilns,
hotels, or living in unsafe conditions. Officers were instructed to identify such minors and facilitate their safe return to their families.
In one such case, the Shivajinagar police traced two missing minors and reunited them with their parents, the officials said. PTI COR GK
