'He Came Back For You': Emraan Hashmi And Vishesh Bhatt Announce Wrap Up For Awarapan 2

The much-awaited sequel to the cult classic Awarapan has reached a major milestone. Actor Emraan Hashmi and producer Vishesh Bhatt have officially announced the wrap-up of Awarapan 2, delighting fans eagerly awaiting the return of one of Bollywood’s most beloved characters.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Vishesh Films announced the wrap-up and wrote, “OGs know this isn’t just a wrap. He came back for you. In cinemas August 14.” One of the fans wrote, “Amaal’s soundtrack is what I’m desperately waiting for”. Another wrote, “Ohh can’t wait for the moviee!! Even more excited for @amaal_mallik ‘s song.”

Awarapan 2 is among the most awaited upcoming projects, and Emraan’s resolve to continue

shooting despite the physical challenges has added even more emotional depth to the journey of the film. Fans, colleagues, and well-wishers are said to be rallying behind him as he delivers yet another powerful performance.

In March this year, on his birthday, Emraan Hashmi announced the sequel to Awarapan. The teaser, featuring his character from the 2007 film, standing on a boat looking at the sun setting behind the city’s skyline, went viral in no time. The song ‘Tera Mera Rishta’ playing in the background lefts fans thrilled. Emraan also revealed that the film will be hitting theatres on April 3, 2026.

While speaking with News18 Showsha earlier, Emraan said, “We’ve been working on the script of the sequel for almost a couple of years. We didn’t want to make a sequel just for the sake of it. It just so happened that we completed working on that script this year. Imagine the kind of draw the film had after its theatrical run.”

He further added, “Awarapan picked up over time through the internet, YouTube, satellite and Torrent. That’s how it developed a huge fan-base. It bears testament to the fact that even a theatrical film isn’t just limited to the cinemas. The trajectory of a film is sometimes very different. If it is good, people will end up consuming it even after it leaves theatres.”
