Deepti Sharma entered her name in the history books on Sunday (October 19) by becoming the first Indian cricketer to score 1500 runs and take 150 wickets in women’s ODIs. Deepti, who has 2607 runs to her credit
in 50-over matches for India, needed one wicket on Sunday to complete 150 dismissals in women’s ODIs, and she achieved the objective by taking Tammy Beaumont’s wicket.
Tammy Beaumont was bowled by Deepti on the last ball of the 16th over of England’s innings in the ongoing ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 match between India and England at Holkar Stadium in Indore.
Four other players – Marizanne Kapp (South Africa), Ellyse Perry (Australia), Stafanie Taylor (West Indies) and Sana Mir (Pakistan) – have also scored 1500+ runs and picked up 150+ wickets in women’s ODIs.

Deepti is the second Indian and overall 10th bowler in the world to take at least 150 wickets in women’s ODIs.
The record of taking the most wickets in women’s ODIs is in the name of former India pacer Jhulan Goswami. Jhulan played 204 ODIs from 2002 to 2022 and accounted for the dismissal of 255 batters.
She is the only cricketer in the world to take more than 200 wickets in women’s ODIs.
