Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash and Sunny Deol-starrer Ramayana is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, the magnum opus has been making headlines ever since its announcement. From its star-studded cast to its breathtaking visuals and large-scale production, every update about the film has kept fans eagerly waiting for its release. Ranbir and Yash, along with director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra, attended the San Diego Comic-Con 2026 to launch the much-awaited trailer of Ramayana. The team also interacted with fans during the event, candidly speaking about the making of Ramayana, their characters, and what audiences can expect from the ambitious two-part epic. During the interaction, Ranbir spoke
about his daughter, Raha Kapoor, and how he is excited to take her to watch the film.
During a Q&A session with fans, Ranbir Kapoor, who will be seen playing the role of Lord Rama, revealed the reason he is especially excited for Ramayana’s release, and it has everything to do with his daughter, Raha Kapoor. A fan spoke about taking children to watch Ramayana so they could learn more about India’s culture and mythology. Responding to the comment, Ranbir said he shared the same excitement. According to the Times of India, the actor said, “I’m very excited to take my daughter to the film. It is going to be her first film on the big screen.”
Meanwhile, the trailer launch of Ramayana has now been postponed indefinitely. It was set to release on July 24, Friday. However, producer Namit Malhotra released an official statement announcing the delay. The note read, “Today is a very special moment for our Ramayana. My dream of taking Ramayana to the world is now a reality with our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment. In light of the above, we will be launching our trailer now globally at a later date.”
He continued, “In over 100+ years of Indian cinema, this will become a moment of great pride where Ramayana will be shown to the entire world like any major global Hollywood film. This is special as it opens the door for people of the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with renewed pride and enthusiasm.”

The grand epic is slated to release on the big screen on Diwali 2026.
