JEE Main 2026 Registration: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to begin the JEE Main 2026 registration process in October 2025. Candidates interested in applying for the Joint Entrance Examination
(JEE Main) can complete their registration through the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in once the link is activated.
According to the NTA schedule, JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in two sessions. Session 1 of the examination will be held from January 21 to 30, 2026, while Session 2 will take place from April 1 to 10, 2026. The two-session format allows students another opportunity to improve their scores and performance.
JEE Main Registration 2026: How To Apply?
To apply for JEE Main 2026 January session, candidates should follow these steps:
Step 1: Visit the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Click on the JEE Main January Session Registration link.
Step 3: Fill in all the required details in the application form carefully.
Step 4: Upload all necessary documents, including photographs and signatures.
Step 5: Pay the application fee using online payment methods.
Step 6: Click on Submit and download the JEE Main 2026 application form PDF.
Step 7: Take a printout of the submitted form for future reference.
NTA has also confirmed that the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 registration process will begin in the last week of January 2026 on the same website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
NTA Expands Exam Cities & Support For Candidates
To make the exam more accessible, NTA is planning to increase the number of exam cities across India. This move aims to ensure wider participation and convenience for engineering aspirants from different regions. The testing agency is also focusing on improving facilities and ensuring necessary support for PwD/PwBD candidates, as mentioned in the official NTA notification.
JEE Main Registration 2026: Important Document Updates
The NTA has issued an advisory on Aadhaar updation to assist lakhs of students across the country. Through Aadhaar authentication, the NTA will obtain key details such as the candidate’s name, date of birth, gender, photograph, and address directly from UIDAI. Aspirants are advised to verify and update these details before filling out the form.
Documents that need to be updated or verified include:
Aadhaar Card: Ensure it reflects the correct name, date of birth (as per Class 10 certificate), latest photograph, address, and father’s name.
UDID Card: The UDID (Unique Disability ID) card must be valid, updated, and renewed if required.
Category Certificate: Candidates applying under EWS, SC, ST, or OBC categories must ensure their certificates are valid and updated.
