The Don 3 row has taken a rather serious turn. What started off as an actor leaving a film over a disagreement has now turned into a war of ideas. With FWICE issuing a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar seeking compensation over the alleged damages, Kangana Ranaut has reacted to the row, stating that when one grows in life, they tend to make more enemies.
While addressing the Don 3 controversy at the trailer launch of her film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, Kangana Ranaut said, “Aisa nahi ho sakta ki aapki haisiyat badhe aur dushman na badhen. Ranveer Singh ko sochna chahiye ki unki kya haisiyat hai ki unke itne dushman hain. Achha hai. Zindagi mein jab aage badhte hain, toh kai tarah ke obstacles aate hain. You can’t have
a smooth road always. Mere saath bhi yeh bahut hua hai, and look, today I am doing well. Meri bhi film chal rahi hai. Kuch farak nahi padta. Everything is going to be okay eventually.”
(“It is not possible for your stature to grow and not have enemies. Ranveer Singh should realize how significant his position is if he has so many detractors. That’s actually a good thing. When you move forward in life, you face many kinds of obstacles. You can’t always have a smooth road. I have gone through this a lot myself, and look, today I am doing well. My film is doing well too. It doesn’t make much difference. Everything is going to be okay eventually.”)
Why Did FWICE ‘Ban’ Ranveer Singh?
For the unversed, the film body issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh on May 25 over his alleged abrupt exit from Don 3. The federation claimed that the actor did not respond to multiple requests to appear in person and explain his side of the story. Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, which is backing Don 3, has also demanded Rs 45 crore from Ranveer as compensation for pre-production expenses incurred before his exit.
Ranveer Singh’s Response
Following the ‘ban’, Ranveer’s spokesperson issued a statement saying that the actor does not wish to add to the speculation and believes such professional disagreements are best handled privately. “Throughout the recent developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to maintain silence, believing that professional discussions and personal equations are best handled with dignity, maturity, and mutual respect,” a part of the statement read.
