KL Rahul Becomes 5th Player To Complete Half-Century For 50-Plus Scores In IPL

KL Rahul is playing as an opener for Delhi Capitals in their IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals

on Sunday (May 17). In the match taking place at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, KL Rahul completed his half-century on the fifth ball of the 12th over of DC’s innings. The fifty by Rahul against the Rajasthan Royals in front of home fans was his 50th 50-plus score in the IPL. He is the fifth batter to register 50 scores of 50 or more in IPL history.

Virat Kohli, who is the highest run-getter in IPL history, has crossed the 50-run mark 76 times in 280 IPL matches played so far. And in the list of batters with the most 50-plus scores in the IPL, Kohli is followed by David Warner (66), Shikhar

Dhawan (53) and Rohit Sharma (51).

The half-century by Rahul on Sunday is also his ninth 50-plus score in the IPL against the Rajasthan Royals. No player has managed to score at least 50 runs nine times in the IPL against the inaugural edition winners.

AB de Villiers slammed eight fifty-plus scores vs RR during his playing days in the IPL, and two batters – Shikhar Dhawan and Kohli – have scored 50 or more runs against the Men in Pink seven times.
