GST Collection January 2026: India’s goods and services tax (GST) collections in January 2026 rose 6.2% to Rs 1,93,384 crore, compared with Rs 1,82,094 crore in January 2025, according to sources. The increase was driven by steady growth in both domestic transactions and imports, reflecting continued momentum in economic activity. Follow Budget Live Updates
Domestic GST revenue in January 2026 came in at Rs 1.41 lakh crore, up 4.8% from Rs 1.35 lakh crore a year earlier, while GST collected on imports rose 10.1% to Rs 52,253 crore. After accounting for refunds, net GST revenue for the month stood at Rs 1.70 lakh crore, registering a 7.6% increase over January 2025. Total refunds issued during the month declined 3.1% year-on-year to Rs 22,665
crore, providing an additional lift to net collections.

On a cumulative basis, gross GST collections for April–January 2025-26 reached Rs 18.43 lakh crore, up 8.3% from Rs 17.02 lakh crore in the corresponding period last year.
Net GST revenue during the same period rose 6.8% to Rs 15.96 lakh crore, underscoring sustained revenue buoyancy despite higher refunds and moderation in some state-wise collections
