During the winter season, dense fog often blankets several cities across North India, causing a sharp decline in visibility and making it almost impossible to drive vehicles on roads. A viral video has
shown a weird and risky idea to avert fog-related accidents, with many social media users not being impressed by it at all.
‘ADAS Level 4’
In the clip shared on Instagram, a group of men can be seen travelling in a car in the dark amid zero visibility. One of them is shown sitting on the car’s bonnet.
“Guys, visibility is zero. We have made a person sit outside (on the car’s bonnet). He is giving us instructions because right now we are not on the main road. It’s an off-road patch and we are unable to see anything here. We can’t figure out where to turn,” one person can be heard from behind the camera.
As they started laughing, the person sitting on the vehicle’s bonnet started giving a signal with his hands and the driver turned the steering accordingly.
Later on, another person in the vehicle said, “No lights are useful here, make a person sit like this.”
“ADAS Level 4. Only 1 in India Scorpio,” the person mentioned in the video.

Since being shared on the social media platform, the video has received more than 11 million views so far.
However, people are advised to avoid performing such actions as it can be quite risky, while a small mistake can lead to a major accident.
Social Media React
In the comments section of the post, several social media users have expressed their views on it, with most of them criticising the move.
“Baad me gaadi thukegi pahle launda thukega (Person sitting on the bonnet will be hit first and then the car),” one user wrote.
Another added, “Accident se pehle thand se mar jaega (He might freeze to death before the accident).”
One user suggested to always keep the camera on as it “works best in fog and will show you a clearer image on screen”.
A fourth person wrote, “Titanic ki yaad dila di bhai (You reminded us of Titanic)”
Sitting on a car bonnet while driving is a serious traffic violation in the country and treated as dangerous activity. This potentially leads to hefty fines.
In 2024, a person was fined Rs 28,500 by Noida Police after a video of him making reels while sitting on the roof of a moving car went viral.
Similarly, a 20-year-old youth, sitting on a car’s bonnet and dressed as Spiderman, was taken into custody by police in 2024 and fined Rs 26,000 for dangerous driving and other violations in Delhi.
