Actor Shruti Haasan recently shared a deeply emotional moment with the family of a baby girl born with a rare genetic condition, after playing a crucial role in helping her parents access life-saving medical
care. The parents took to Instagram to share photos and videos of their daughter Aazhvi meeting Shruti in person, describing the encounter as a milestone they would cherish forever.
The video shows Shruti gently playing with the baby, smiling and interacting with her warmly — a moment that quickly touched hearts online. In a heartfelt caption, the parents expressed their gratitude and admiration for the actor, calling the meeting unforgettable.
“They say you should never meet your heroes, but clearly, they haven’t met @shrutzhaasan. I have always been someone who feels a lot but says very little and today my heart is just overflowing. This meeting was a milestone,” they wrote.
‘Her kindness felt like family’
The parents went on to praise Shruti’s compassion and warmth, noting that what moved them most was not just her presence, but her humanity. “What moved me the most was not just her presence but her incredible kindness. To be invited into her private space is a rare gift, but the way she welcomed us felt like family,” the note read.
They also described how Shruti interacted with their daughter, adding, “The way she was with Aazhvi so sweet, so patient and so genuinely warm is something i will hold onto forever. Seeing Aazhvi’s face light up because of Shruti’s sweetness and that big bag of biscuits she so thoughtfully gave her! made me the happiest.”
Calling Shruti “the definition of down to earth,” the couple expressed gratitude for her continued support. Shruti responded to the post with heart emojis, acknowledging the message quietly.
How Shruti Haasan helped save Aazhvi’s life
In a detailed post shared in July 2025, the parents revealed that Aazhvi, born in 2023, was diagnosed with MSMD (Mendelian Susceptibility to Mycobacterial Diseases) — a rare genetic condition that severely affects the immune system. The child’s early years were marked by repeated medical emergencies, eventually leading to the need for a bone marrow transplant in 2025.
Explaining Shruti’s role, the parents wrote, “They say when God can’t reach us, He sends someone. For us, that someone was Ms Shruti Haasan – truly godsent. She led us to an incredible team of doctors (especially Dr Dharani & Dr Divya), and through them, we reached top specialists across the country.”
They further shared that when Aazhvi was suddenly admitted to the ICU, Shruti and her team stepped in immediately. “I was only able to do that – move quickly, access the best care – because of Ms Shruti. She and her team took care of everything, gave us strength, supported us emotionally, financially and because of her … my daughter is alive today,” they wrote.
On the work front, Shruti Haasan was last seen in Coolie in 2025 and will next appear in Train with Vijay Sethupathi and Aakasamlo Oka Tara with Dulquer Salmaan. She also recently lent her voice to a song in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
